PAWSAM PAWS DOG GROOMING TERMS & CONDITIONS
delimiter image

Thank you for taking the time to read Pawsam Paws Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions are put in place for your dogs safety and the safety of the staff at Pawsam Paws. Our customers are asked to agree to the following terms before signing their dogs up for Pawsam Paws dog grooming services.

We like to arrange a “face to face” meet and greet with all new customers and dogs, prior to any booking. However, if this is not possible, a recent photo and accurate description of your dog may suffice.

HEALTH

At Pawsam Paws, your dog’s health, wellbeing, and comfort are our top priorities. If your dog shows any signs of fear, stress, or anxiety during their groom, we may need to adjust our approach to help them feel more at ease. This may require additional time and could incur an extra charge.

We believe in a gentle, stress-free grooming experience and will never force any part of the grooming process. If your dog is uncomfortable with any specific procedure, we will skip that part for their safety and wellbeing. Please note that we are unable to offer price reductions for incomplete grooms resulting from a dog’s behaviour. However, we’re always happy to offer advice and support to help your dog build confidence for future visits.

Please inform us of any changes in your dog’s health before their appointment. We kindly ask that you do not bring your dog in for grooming if they are unwell, have been recently neutered, or if your female dog is currently in season.

Grooming elderly or medically vulnerable dogs is done entirely at the owner’s risk. Sometimes grooming can reveal underlying health or skin conditions for which Pawsam Paws cannot be held responsible. In the rare event of an accident or medical emergency, you authorise us to seek immediate veterinary care.

If your dog requires extra time due to behavioural needs or health considerations, this will be charged at £5 per additional 15 minutes (£20 per hour)

Vaccinations: By using our services, you confirm your dog is up to date on vaccinations for canine parvovirus, distemper, Leptospirosis, and infectious hepatitis. Proof and vet details must be provided upon request.

Medical Issues & Senior Dogs: Grooming can be stressful and may reveal or worsen health issues. If urgent veterinary care is needed, we will attempt to contact you before seeking treatment. All costs are the owner’s responsibility.

Fleas/Ticks: If fleas are found, grooming will likely cease, and you will need to collect your dog. A surcharge of £10 will be applied to cover costs for disinfection of our premises. Tick removal incurs a £5 charge.

Accidents: While we take great care, minor cuts or nicks can occur, especially with uncooperative dogs. If a dog resists grooming, we may stop for safety reasons.

COAT CONDITION

If a coat is severely matted, we may shave it per the “Animal Welfare Act 2006” This may cause skin irritation or uneven regrowth, for which we are not liable. Extra charges apply due to time and equipment wear. If grooming exceeds the scheduled time, an additional 1-hour appointment (£25) will be required.

BEHAVIOUR

Aggressive Dogs: Owners must disclose any history of aggression. We may refuse service and charge a £10 aggression fee. Owners are liable for damages or medical costs if a bite occurs.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations must be received at least 24 hours before your appointment time.

A 50% missed groom fee will apply in the following cases: if an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice; or if you do not attend your arranged appointment.

Should you look to book in for another appointment, your next groom will require a 50% payment upfront before another appointment can be booked. This is non-refundable in the case of cancellation less than 24 hours before the appointment.

Pawsam Paws will also add a 50% grooming fee to anyone who changes or cancels three or more consecutive appointments.

PAYMENT

Payment must be made before or upon collection of your dog. We accept cash or BACS payments. Late/non payment will incur a £10 fee on outstanding amounts over seven days. Further action will be taken if payment is not made under the Fraud Act 2006. The theft of services is a crime because it involves dishonesty and the intentional avoidance of payment for services provided. Further costs will be incurred by the client in pursuit of monies outstanding through Small Claims Court.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Pawsam Paws will take “before” and “after” photos of every pet and will use video and images through their social media platforms but you will be given the opportunity to refuse this. Photos are also used for reference if any complaints arise.

TERMINATION OF SERVICES

We reserve the right to cease providing services to any client at our sole discretion and at any time, with or without cause or prior notice. This includes, but is not limited to, situations where continued service may no longer be in the best interest of the business, staff, other clients, or the animals in our care.

The client agrees to hold Pawsam Paws Dog Grooming harmless for any inconvenience or perceived damages resulting from the termination of services.

This policy is in place to help ensure the safety, well-being, and respectful treatment of all animals and humans involved.
